For recruiters, empathy, intuition and experience have always been essential. But in today’s data-driven world, there is also a wealth of numbers available to inform the right recruiting decisions.
But with all those open roles to fill, it can be tough to find the time to identify which data is important. And not only that: How do you find the time to master it, while still scouting for talent, building relationships with candidates and filling those open roles for hiring managers?
Well, what if you had access to easy-to-use reports based on reliable data that provided you with clear insight into local job market conditions, while also helping you to create job descriptions and other content designed to get results?
Now you do. Exclusively available to Indeed Featured Employers, Hiring Insights consists of two reports: Market Insights and Candidates Insights, both of which are accessed through Indeed Analytics. These provide self-serve access to job market and candidate data for your roles and locations to optimize your recruiting performance—all built on Indeed’s millions-strong jobs database.
So what are some of the ways you can use Indeed Hiring Insights? Let’s take a look.
Evaluate the local job market with Market Insights
Let’s say you are looking to hire a “Sales Representative” in “Atlanta, GA.” You can use the Market Insights report to get information specific to this job and location.
To help assess the competitiveness of the job market, the report will tell you the number of jobs posted compared to the number of job seekers for sales reps in Atlanta. You’ll also see the percentage of searches on mobile devices, and will receive a list of top search keywords for this job, which you can use to optimize your job descriptions.
There’s no limit to how many times you can do this—you have the option to search for up to five job titles at once and conduct as many searches as necessary.
Evaluate the talent pool with Candidate Insights
With the Candidate Insights report, recruiters can evaluate the talent pool for specific job categories. How? Start with a job category you’re interested in and Candidate Insights will produce a report based on Indeed’s 42 million US resumes.
For instance, if you’re looking for information on nursing jobs, you’ll receive insights on the number of potential candidates, popular companies that employ people in this field, plus the distribution of educational background and years of experience for these candidates. Further, you’ll be able to see where these candidates commonly live, including an option to see locations where there is a high proportion of job seekers with the background that you’re interested in.
And just as with Market Insights, you can easily change the job category to create a new report, and there’s no limit to the number of searches you can make.
Are you a Featured Employer? If so, you can start using Hiring Insights today by accessing it through Indeed Analytics. If you’re not, here’s more about how to become one and start tapping into all the benefits it can bring.
