Small businesses face unique hiring challenges. These emerging companies have to compete with larger organizations in the same space, making their jobs visible to the best talent. Without the support of a large human resources team, business owners are often tasked with running the company while also managing the hiring process.

Signpost is a quickly-growing marketing automation company that’s always on the lookout for talented people to join their small team. As the Manager of Sales Talent at Signpost, Chris Gannon is responsible for hiring people who will be the right fit. “Our recruiting strategy is really looking for top sales talent and marketing ourselves as one of the top growing companies to work for,” says Gannon.

Employer branding is becoming a key focus for Signpost and they work with Indeed to attract qualified candidates to their jobs. “Our partnership with Indeed allows us to be a Featured Employer, this visibility lets us compete with those big name brands that have been around for years,” Gannon says.

As a Featured Employer, Signpost’s branding appears in search results along with their jobs. In addition to making their jobs stand out on the page, Gannon explains that “one of the biggest benefits of being a Featured Employer with Indeed is the free resume search – and 50% of our candidates came from there last month.”

For Signpost, Indeed’s services for small business are the key to the kind of expansion they want to achieve. “We really need to have a true partnership with a company that understands our needs on how we have to develop. Indeed is a great example of that, because like Signpost, a couple of years ago they were a smaller business too, hitting the types of targets that we need to hit now.”
