Users often complain about cumbersome job application processes and the inability to apply on mobile devices. Earlier this year, we introduced Indeed Apply to solve these problems.
With Indeed Apply, people can apply to jobs within seconds on desktop and mobile devices using an Indeed Resume or a traditional resume file. Hundreds of thousands of jobs on Indeed and our partner sites now support Indeed Apply. These jobs are clearly labeled in Indeed’s search results to let users know which jobs have this easy application method.
Since its launch in January, more than 5 million job applications have been submitted via Indeed Apply, with 1.3 million in the past 30 days alone.
Mobile job search has contributed significantly to the growing usage of Indeed Apply. Millions of people search for jobs via their phones and the rate of Indeed Apply applications from mobile has doubled in the past two months. With more than one million new resumes being added to Indeed each month, an increasing number of people can apply easily using an Indeed Resume on any smartphone or tablet.
Recent data from ZipRecruiter, a job distribution system for small and medium businesses, highlights the increasing usage of Indeed Apply, the type of candidates using it and its implications for employers.
Over a four month period, the number of applications on ZipRecruiter via Indeed Apply increased more than 200%. In June, Indeed Apply accounted for 16% of all applications to jobs on ZipRecruiter. “The bulk of these applications appeared to be incremental. More candidates out of the same volume of traffic.” Apply with LinkedIn accounted for 5.4% of applications. With Indeed Apply, the barriers to completing an application are reduced and the number of applicants increases.
What’s more, the data shows that Indeed Apply provided more applicants than Apply with LinkedIn in eight of ten hard-to-fill categories. Indeed Apply provided nearly as many applicants as Apply with LinkedIn in the other two categories.
