Steady job posting gains in August
Healthcare
After reaching a record high in July, job postings for healthcare increased 7% in August to establish another new high for Industry Employment Trends.
Job seeker demand was strongest for allied health positions such as medical assistant, pharmacy technician, and phlebotomist. They continue to be among the job titles receiving the most interest from job seekers as measured by clicks.
Manufacturing
Job posting growth slowed in June and July, but saw an encouraging gain in August – increasing 6% over the month. With job postings up 10% over the prior quarter and 37% over the prior year, manufacturing has established a continued upward trend in employer demand.
Education
Job postings increased 10% month-over-month, the largest percentage gain for any industry last month. Education jobs in New York, Chicago, and Washington, DC received the most job seeker clicks.
Human Resources
Job postings eclipsed 70,000 for the first time since Indeed began tracking the industry. HR and recruiter job postings are particularly useful to track each month because of their role in companies’ workforce planning activities.
